Using the Link Popularity Report

Because the Internet's top search engines incorporate link analysis into their ranking algorithms, your Web page's back links (i.e., inbound links) will directly affect the page's eventual search engine ranking. The Traffic Blazer Link Popularity feature allows you to ascertain how many links point to your Web page — and where those links originate from. The Link Popularity tool will list your page's back links as recognized by search engines Google, Yahoo!, MSN, and Ask.

Knowing a Web page's link popularity is an essential element of a successful search engine optimization campaign — as well as a natural starting point for an aggressive link building campaign. Keep in mind that in regards to search engines, not all links are created equal. Link quality, rather than quantity, is the key to top search engine rankings for your Web site pages. Thus, a limited number of back links from highly-rated and topically related Web sites will have a relatively larger impact on your search engine ranking than a large number of inbound links from lowly and/or unrelated origins. Thus, when reviewing your Link Popularity Report, be sure to review the originating sites for your back links.

To initiate or review your Link Popularity Report, go to the Traffic Blazer "Reports" section and select "Link Popularity Report" from the displayed menu.
